Re-defining Work Flow with the Menstrual Phases

Time to work smarter, not harder. In flow.

In an ideal world, job roles and our schedules would be structured to accomodate the fluctuation of our hormones, even if we’re the ones implementing the boundaries.

Since this isn’t the case (yet), it’s up to you to create space to honour the cyclic occurance that is your menstrual cycle.

If you don’t, who else will?

Your hormonal fluctuations are a pretty significant aspect to your day to day operating system. Your endocrine system is associated with all of your chakras — that is, your energetic alignment.

You work in spirals, not in a constant upward trajectory, and trying to force yourself to fit into that paradigm is a very expensive price to pay. For one thing, you lose the precious connection to your subtle senses — your psychic abilities — and no, I’m not talking about reading the future, I’m talking about the sensitivity you have which enables you to connect to your authenticity (wants, needs and desires) and determine what energetic investments are actually worth your time and energy.

It’s about choosing to make very subtle (yet powerful) shifts to honour the magic in and around you, and the spirals in which your energy moves.

This self-acknowledgement is no small feat, but it tells the Universe that you’re important, worthy and valuable and that your energetic state is both valid and ever-changing.

Considering your cycle and it’s phases as you structure your work flow/operations is so, so, soo worthwhile.

For example, your Follicular Phase (post-bleed) is ideal for all kinds of creative exploration and execution. As estrogen levels increase, so do your energy levels making this time ideal for starting new projects, putting things in action and creative extrapolation on the insights received during the Menstrual Phase (when the veil to other realms is thin and insights abound).

Conversely, during the Luteal Phase (post-ovulation) as hormone levels start to decrease, your available energy does the same. Instead of climbing to a peak, now we’re working in energetic bursts. Peaks and troughs.

Expecting consistent ‘up-ness’ simply isn’t realistic during this phase.

The Luteal Phase is a time of shifting gears and altering your focus from outward expression to inward exploration and contemplation. Use the energy when it’s there and in lull moments enjoy totally pulling back and chilling, knowing that this is what your body needs and how it’s actually designed.

Menstruation is a time to pull back — to go internal. Even if you can’t go totally off-grid as you menstruate, setting aside an evening/a block of time to fall into your subtle energies and intuition enough to listen to what you’re body is asking for and then honouring those needs is a major act of self love.

These small acts compounded create significant changes to your wellbeing, mental equanimity and overall perspective, as well as your ROeI (Return on Energetic Investment).

No more pushing or striving. Way more spaciousness, both in headspace and the expanse of time available to you when you’re in sync. ⁣
